Main Stage: SUNDAY 11
Long before you finish your first listen to Squeeze’s 2015 album Cradle To The Grave, you realise that no one has ever come close to taking their place. Formed in 1973 in South London, Difford and Tilbrook had no idea they would one day be dubbed ‘The New Lennon and McCartney’. Over 35 years later we all know their greatest hits by heart – Cool For Cats, Tempted and Up The Junction are seminal tracks.
Cradle To The Grave marked the triumphant reintegration of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, in a beautifully-observed series of fond vignettes about childhood, growing up and the absurdities of the ride through life we’re all on.
Songs from the record featured prominently in ‘Cradle To Grave,’ the comedy drama based on Danny Baker’s memoirs starring Peter Kay.
