He’s supported legendary artists such as Don McLean, The Waterboys and Bonnie Raitt, now Jarrod Dickenson is bringing his brand of soul-infused Americana to OnBlackheath.
Hailing from Texas, where storytelling is something of a tradition and tall hats and even taller tales are woven into the state’s fabric, Jarrod can spin a musical yarn with the best of them.
Critically acclaimed album The Lonesome Traveler brought him to the attention of audiences beyond his Nashville base, and earned fans such as BBC radio hosts Cerys Matthews, Huey Morgan, Janice Long and Shaun Keaveney, who described Jarrod’s sound as “A smokey. Filthy, Cohen-inflicted piece of subterranean melodrama...and I like it.”
With a voice some have compared to Tom Waits and the ability to craft stunning melodies, Jarrod’s latest album Ready The Horses is due for release at the end of September. Saddle up Blackheath and get ready for the musical ride of the summer!
