Le Bun is the creation of Andy Taylor and Tim Talbot. Sparked by an idea that French and American cuisines weren’t as far removed as they were perceived to be, the duo quickly gained notoriety thanks to the eye of Sunday Times Magazine cook, Gizzi Erskine.
Gizzi, alongside Jamie Oliver’s production team Fresh One, mentored the twosome through #TheOnesToWatch, a 4 part prime-time series aired on Sky1 in May 2014.
Three Sunday Times recipes followed, as did a stint at Street Feast, Everyman Cinema’s Battersea Power Station pop up, National Burger Day and spots at Lovebox, Wilderness, Feastival and Winter Wonderland; among other festivals, events and pop-ups such as “Le Brunch”, “Le Bun at Le Zetter” and “Le Bun Vivant” in Chinatown.
During the first part of 2016, Andy and Tim road tripped for two months through France and American to truly understand iconic French and American food. It was essential to surround themselves with the culture inherent to its birth; be it Cheesesteaks in Philly, Bourguignon in Burgundy or Hot Chicken in Nashville. Le Bun is the duo’s homage to truly unique French and American indulgence and a commitment to gluttony and excess.
